16 Aug Generation Z releases ‘STRONG’ single, available 21 August 2020

I am really excited to announce that a charity single that I’ve helped to write and produce is being released this coming Friday 21 August. It is called Strong, by Generation Z – a musical group made up of teens aged 13 – 19 years old, formed during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

The single is in aid of leading UK charities YoungMinds, fighting for young people with mental health issues, and Grief Encounter, supporting bereaved children, young people and their families.

The music and lyrics in ‘Strong’ reflects the teenagers’ own personal stories and feelings surrounding how they had coped during lockdown, many of whom had been mid GSCE and A-level exams.

The single is already available for pre-order on iTunes by typing in the search “Generation Z Strong”. And the song will be available to download, stream and view from 21 August on iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, YouTube and all major platforms! The music video will also be on YouTube too.

I’ve enjoyed leading the recording, arrangement and production of the song – which has involved persuading a stellar cast of session musicians to record remotely from home, free of charge. I also arranged for our teenagers to record the song individually – adhering to social distancing policies and Covid-19 advice. The music video was filmed outside, as restrictions eased, whilst still observing social distancing.
