Wedding pianist testimonials

Below are a handful of happy testimonials from clients who have hired Bryan to be the piano player for their wedding. See more testimonials.

An experienced wedding piano player

Playing the piano at a wedding is not just limited to performing at a drinks reception after the wedding ceremony. It can cover playing during a wedding breakfast, or as guests arrive at the venue, way before the ceremony even starts. It can also involve playing at a separate party for friends following a couple's private family wedding abroad.

A piano player for your wedding ceremony

Here is how Bryan approaches wedding ceremony piano playing. Hopefully you will find this useful. Feel free to get in touch if you have any specific questions.

Guest arrival before your wedding ceremony

If you book Bryan to play at your wedding ceremony, he will play during for the arrival of your guests – for up to 30 minutes before your wedding ceremony is due to start. On the day, he will select beautiful music from his repertoire, often featuring contemporary-classical pieces and delicate pop instrumental background music.

Civil ceremony

If your wedding ceremony is a civil ceremony, the standard format for the music is: Entrance ( 1 song); Signing of Register (2-3 songs); Exit (1 song). Since a wedding ceremony is very personal and unique to you, Bryan is happy to play any pieces of music you’d like – anything from pop, jazz standards or contemporary classical. These pieces of music may already be in Bryan’s extensive repertoire, but if not, he will learn them for you – at no additional charge.

Church wedding ceremony

If your ceremony is in a church, Bryan is happy to play any hymns you might like for the guests to sing along with. This is in addition to the entrance, signing of register and exit pieces of music.

A pianist for your wedding reception

For drinks receptions and wedding breakfasts, Bryan will play the songs that best suit the atmosphere from his repertoire – a bit like a DJ!

If you’d like to get involved in the playlist for the day, Bryan recommends:  (1) Copying his repertoire into a Word document.  (2) Boldening any songs you absolutely love.  (3)  Striking through any you don’t like.   (4) Leaving the rest. The wider the selection Bryan has to work with, the better as it means he can adapt quickly and flexibly to the vibe.

Drinks reception

Drinks receptions that follow a wedding ceremony are often a great time to introduce some upbeat, classy jazz standards. Many couples like to try and make the most of the nice weather in the Spring, Summer and early Autumn and hold their wedding drinks reception outside.

Wedding breakfast

Wedding breakfasts are an opportunity to have live background music while you and your guests are dining. If you are hiring Bryan to play at your wedding ceremony and drinks, it is really cost-effective to have him play through your wedding breakfast too.  Bryan is always looking to play the songs that best support the vibe going on around him. As the dining courses progress, it is not unusual for the music to ramp up - quite often with guests joining in and singing along!
